Tanjungpandan, Media Center – The Belitung Regency Government plans to request the reopening of international flights at Hanandjoedin Airport. This was conveyed by the Regent of Belitung, Sahani Saleh after chairing a meeting with tourism operators, Angkasa Pura, and a number of other parties, Wednesday (28/09/2022). "We will propose to return the flight route from Belitung to the international flight," said Regent Sahani. International flights in Belitung had previously been closed for approximately 2 years due to the co-19 outbreak.
Therefore international flights must obtain mobile number list ermission from the Ministry of Transportation. Regent Sahani also said that both the government and tourism operators had communicated with several airlines and international travel agencies regarding this matter. Several countries such as Malaysia, Singapore and China are said to be interested in reopening flights to Belitung "They also hope that actually our international airport will be reopened," added Regent Sahani.
Representative from the Indonesia Hotel General Manager Association, Dino Leonardi also stated that the condition for recovering hotel occupancy as of August 2022 had reached 86 percent compared to 2019. According to him, this condition would be better if international flights were reopened. "Some friends are optimistic that they will set a target for next year's growth at 7 to 15%," said Dino Regarding the infrastructure development forHanandjoedin Airport, the Ministry of Transportation actually planned to build it in 2019.
